The Terrific Three’s program focuses on the cognitive, emotional, linguistic, physical, social, and spiritual development. The Mission and Vision of Providence Christian Academy provide responsible education for each child through these developmental domains. This developmental approach values the child as purposely created by God as a unique individual.
The teachers are committed to presenting developmental and age appropriate instruction to the students. This is demonstrated through differentiated instruction that begins where the child is, setting goals, supporting individual learning styles to meet those goals, and encouraging responsibility and independence. The teacher is prepared with a purpose each day.
The learning environment is supportive and consistently nurtures individual abilities and talents with the time needed to grow. The learning environment reflects cleanliness and structure. It is an environment that makes learning an enjoyable experience.
Assessments of educational goals in the six developmental domains are gathered from formal and informal teacher observations. Ongoing observations occur throughout the day while children are busy in the “act of learning” giving a more thorough assessment beyond attaching generalizations to a child’s performance.
